Happily Ever Barnes

September 08, 2014

To say this wedding was the wedding of the year would most probably be the biggest understatement of the century. No word of a lie.

Alyce Barnes, If you are reading this (which we so hope you do some day) can we just say…. WOW. Alyce you were, an absolute delight, treat and treasure to work alongside in the lead up and preparation to the best and biggest day of your life. We can quite honestly say we have never had a bride as bubbly, positive, joyful and just incredibly excited as you, and we have had some pretty amazingly wonderful ones.

From our very first meeting with Alyce, I remember her walking away after we had a huge farewell embrace, Ang and I looked at each other and the first words that were said were ‘I cannot wait to do her wedding!!’ From the get-go Alyce had a vision for the day that she would wed her love, Matthew (a.k.a #barnesneedsinsta) and oh my did she make that vision a reality.

This wedding was to put it into a sentence, a whimsical secret garden-embellished fairy tale tucked away in a divine garden in Woodville followed by a romantic and elegant garden filled reception in the breath taking Longworth House. If you are currently looking for a location for your wedding reception, we couldn’t recommend it more, its simple but timeless structure combined with high ceilings and exposed wooden beams is a perfect combination for an incredible celebration of any kind. (and also a florists dream in a venue!)

With photographer James Bennett capturing every tiny detail, we now get to relish in the delights of these stunning images of the day Alyce and Matt became husband and wife. I think the part about this whole wedding we loved the most, has to be that we felt we were on the same page as Alyce the whole time! What she loved we loved, what we pictured, she pictured, it helped that we all had the same vision alongside like-minded creative geniuses such as Inga from ‘inkling design’ and Naomi from ‘hello Naomi’.

In conclusion, this was such a rewarding wedding in so many ways, so thank you lovely Alyce and Matt Barnes for allowing us to participate in creating what was one incredible day.

So much love
